Biography
A thousand years of elegance
Young pipa artist
Ying Cui is a young pipa artist and educator. She entered the Middle School affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music with outstanding results and studied with Professor Sun Weixi. During her undergraduate and graduate years, she studied under Professor Zhang Hongyan.
She is also committed to sharing Chinese traditional music internationally. From 2014 to 2015, she taught at the Confucius Institute of Music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, giving lectures and concerts across Europe and presenting Chinese stories through the pipa.
Ying Pipa Studio is founded by award-winning Pipa artist Ying Cui.
Milestones
Young Faculty, Central Conservatory of Music
Engaged in professional music education and outreach, and serves as a judge for overseas grading examinations.
Teaching in Denmark & Europe
Taught at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and held lectures and concerts in multiple European countries.
Joined plucked-strings ensemble
Performed nationwide with the conservatory plucked-strings ensemble and touring concert series.
Awards & major performances
Won prizes in international instrumental competitions and performed at major national events.
